Study design: Treatment of T. gondii infected mice with various combinations of sulphadiazine and pyrimethmamine plus levamisole or echinacea to determine their influence on survival rate.

Results: Combination of sulphadiazine, pyrimethamine and levamisole increased survival rate significantly compared to the usual treatment without levamisole. Survival rate using echinacea in addition was not increased.

Conclusions: Triple combination with levamisole as an immunomodulator can be an optional treatment alternative in T. gondii infections.
